Yard waste collection reduced
Its spring time and the City of Campbell River will be picking up yard waste starting in April. It is a reduced program this year; the City will be collecting yard waste for four months instead of eight.
“I think everyone knows Council is facing a very big challenge this year, finding the right balance between tax increases and reducing service levels,” explained City Manager Ron Neufeld. “Because there are options for the community, council made the decision to reduce the curbside service and that is going to save in an approximate value of a hundred thousand dollars for the year.”
The spring collections will start on April 2nd and end on May 27th. The fall schedule will be released later.
For the rest of the year, residents can go to the yard waste drop off center, located off Willis road in the Quinsam Indian Reserve.
